Ghost of Tsushima
Suckerpunch’s latest game, Ghost of Tsushima released in 2020 to overwhelmingly positive critical and commercial reception. The game combines its excellent visuals with smart open-world design to create an unforgettable experience. The protagonist Jin Sakai has gone on to become one of our favorites in gaming. Suckerpunch has continued to gift more content to their players, with a free standalone co-op experience called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
The PS5 is the best place to experience this adventure as it effortlessly renders the scenic landscapes in 60fps.
Demon’s Souls
Demon’s Souls has been one of the driving forces behind the huge sales of the console. This remake of the 2009 PS3 cult classic is a visual treat and serves as a shining example of what’s possible on these new machines. Of course, the gameplay is as punishing as it is rewarding. There have been a lot of subtle tweaks and improvements on the gameplay side such as redone animations for weapons, which makes it worth experiencing it all over again.
Bluepoint has been pumping out these remasters for quite some time, and Demon’s Souls is probably their most ambitious and best one to date.
God of War
God of War received it’s latest entry in 2018, which went on to become many gamers’ Game of The Year. This Norse mythology epic sees Kratos taking his son Atreus on the top of a mountain to carry out his wife’s last wishes. Where older games would pride themselves on their over-the-top brutality and violence, this game tells a gripping story. In addition to that, the gameplay systems also received a major overhaul. The revamped combat system and the new weapons at the player’s disposal make this rendition the most satisfying to play through. The PS5 does all this with a solid 60 FPS, which makes it a must-play on the platform.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The other launch title for the system, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the second entry in this Insomniac-developed open-world series. This game sees you play as Miles Morales and take down the villains that threaten this gorgeous rendition of New York. As a launch title, this game takes full advantage of the PS5’s horsepower with graphical features such as Ray Tracing and provides alternate modes for the players who want a higher framerate. The Dualsense controller also gets to shine here with clever usage. This is certainly one of the best games available on the PS5 and a must-have for action-lovers.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar’s latest open-world game, Red Dead Redemption 2 released in 2018 and instantly raised the bar for storytelling and visuals in the open-world genre. Arthur Morgan is the most charming outlaw we’ve seen and his band of friends isn’t far behind either. The gameplay ditches the usual heavily-automated gameplay of open-worlds and settles for a more mechanical and methodical approach. The lovingly crafted open-world implores you to take your time as you find it’s deepest mysteries and secrets.
Though the game hasn’t received any visual upgrades for the new consoles at the time of writing, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still one of the top-class action games on the market that shouldn’t be missed out on.
