When can we expect a PS5 hardware update? Previously, it took around three years for Sony to release a new model for its PS4 but it doesn’t seem like it will be that much delayed for Sony’s PS5.

When Can This New Console Be Expected To Come Out?

After its initial launch in the month of November 2013, PS4 received its slim and a higher-end pro version around September 2016. The same was applicable for PS3. So, are we gonna witness the same for Sony’s latest console PS5? If sony follows its same timetable of giving a console its hardware update in a time-gap of every three years then a slim or pro version of PS5 can be expected to be dropped in the market around late 2023. The former could be a smaller, sleeker and cheaper version of its original and its buffed up pro version would be capable of delivering a higher resolution and frame rates.

PS5 SLIM: Everything We Know So Far

According to recent rumours a slim version of PS5 might be on its way. Sony’s aim for this version will be reduced weight and size, basically a more compact version of the console with a smaller but more efficient version of the existing CPU. Also, apparently the tweaked chassis wouldn’t be in need of a stand of its own to remain upright.

PS5 Pro And Slim:What Do We Demand From Sony?

As we already know that an update in a console means running the same games but making them better, like having a higher resolution or better frame rates whilst playing a game. This is a must have feature that every fan wants from an upgraded version of their favourite consoles. While there are 8k televisions available in the market now-a-days, sheer processing power is a must to push that many processed, lit and textured pixels which obviously is not very much possible for a company to do. So keeping that point in mind, if in future there might be a pro version it really needs to concentrate on operating well with a 4k television set. This basically means that various games should be able to run without any frame dropping whenever a cut scene or any moment in the game becomes complicated.

What Can Be The Expected Pricing?

PlayStation 4’s price was decided to be around ₹35,000 during its launch and its slim version was around ₹26,000 or £259. After PS5’s initial release, its price was determined to be around ₹36,000 or £360 on a digital-only console. So, the expected pricing that may be set for its alternate versions could be around ₹55,000-60,000 or £550-600. It’ll be a tough competitor for Microsoft’s Xbox series S which is available for only ₹25,000 or £249. With that, we’ll sum up this article and hope that Sony’s newer versions of its public popular PS5 may come with some major improvements and a cheaper price.
