Allowing the players to relive the anime, Aniplex and CyberConnect2 confirmed the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles game to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Previously it was announced that it would be released only on PS4.

However, the February 8 issue of magazine Weekly Jump revealed that it will also be coming to PS5 (with presumably more than just backward compatibility), Xbox One (and in turn, Xbox Series X in some form), and PC. The game was first teased with a 2021 release date for PS4. Demon Slayer: Hinokami Keppuutan is a 3D Arena Fighter similar to CyberConnect2’s Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

A multi-platform release and an Xbox One release means it’s more likely than ever for a western release to come around which means that the game would possibly be released outside Japan too. At the end of the day, there is no way the game won’t release outside Japan seeing the franchise’s incredible popularity.

Hinokami Kepputan is a third-person action fighting game, allowing up to 2 players to fight on a battlefield. There’s a solo mode as well as a versus mode. In solo mode, the players take control of Tanjiro Kamado and fight demons.

The players get to relive the anime, Kimetsu no Yaiba leading up to the Mugen Train Arc. In the Versus Mode, the player can play as any two characters from the anime, including Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado in a 2v2 match with up to two players in offline or online mode.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles will be available on October 15, 2021. You can play it a bit earlier than that on October 13, 2021, if you pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition.
