DC FanDome has finally begun. The conference is shaping out to be a treat for DC fans and video game fans alike. And so, WB Games Montreal has finally put a rest on all those teasers and unveiled their latest and greatest in the Batman Universe: Gotham Knights.

Trailer Analysis

The trailer begins with shots of Gotham City, looking better than ever with the latest technology. Then it cuts to Bruce Wayne in a street recording that says, “if you’re seeing this, I’m dead.” He then goes on to thank his fellow vigilantes like Nightwing and Robin for being by his side. Following that, we see our first look at the playable characters, Robin, Nightwing, Deadshot, and Batgirl. The trailer ends with shots of the mystery man that may very well be the villain of the game.

Gotham Knights Gameplay Analysis

Viewers were also treated to a gameplay trailer as well. The mission shown in the footage takes place in Gotham City, where Batgirl and Robin are tasked to destroy Mr Freeze’s machine. The chunk starts with some driving and then some combat. They then make their way up the facility, fighting some more enemies, and finally, it ends with a showdown with Mr Freeze.

The game looks dead gorgeous with quite a cinematic feel to it, as the HUD is pretty minimalistic. It seems to play like the Batman Arkham games, with the same forgiving and free-flowing combat that gives out a feeling of power fantasy.

The game features two players co-op and also takes a dive into character customization and progression, just like the Marvel Avengers game that is set to release this September.

Gotham Knights will be releasing for PS4, PS5, Xbox One Xbox Series X and PC  sometime in 2021.
