1.) Deus Ex Series

Deus Ex is probably the closest experience to Cyberpunk 2077 that we have on the market. This is an action-adventure role-playing game spanning across multiple entries. In the games, you as Adam Jensen, a mechanically augmented soldier sent to places to uncover conspiracies and stop evil forces.

You get to play with a variety of augmentations that grant you various skills and buffs. The game is open-ended and gives you a lot of freedom in how you want to tackle the given objectives. The setting, different character builds and dialogue choices make this one of the closest experiences to Cyberpunk.

Our picks would be Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. These games capture the spirit of the originals with modern graphics and controls.

2.) Watch Dogs Series

Watch Dogs is an open-world game series by Ubisoft where you play as a hacker trying to bring down a government conspiracy. The games touch on a lot of themes such as internet anonymity, data security which are genuinely concerning in today’s day and age. While the first game is great in its own right, we would recommend you guys to play Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Watch Dogs 2 takes on the foundation of the first game and adds a lot of diverse and interesting characters with a lot of gameplay variety. The vehicle controls can be cumbersome at times, but it still is a fun open-world game that is somewhat similar to Cyberpunk 2077.

The third game, Watch Dogs Legion has just been released. Although the game didn’t fully deliver on its promises, it still is a fun game. Critics have praised the game for its gameplay variety and engaging gameplay.

3.) Ghostrunner

Ghostrunner is a relatively new title. The steam page for Ghostrunner describes the game as a “hardcore FPP slasher” and we agree. The game takes place in a futuristic world where you play as a cybernetic shinobi. You must wall-run and sword slash your way while using bullet time to conquer its platforming and combat challenges. Ghostrunner currently sits at a score of 82 on Metacritic. If you are sad about the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t have wall-running, this game is sure to satisfy that fantasy.

4.) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The only game in this list that can still rival the scope of Cyberpunk 2077 is none other than CDPR’s last Witcher game. The Witcher 3 is a single-player role-playing game where you play as Geralt Of Rivia, a witcher. The game is set in a rich open-world with a vast scope and exquisite vistas. As the witcher, you embark on a journey to save the royal princess Ciri from the clutches of The Wild Hunt. The game contains content worth hundreds of hours, all equally amazing. The plethora of choices that lead to multiple endings also bolster the game’s replayability.

The game also has 2 of the best video game expansions – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine which have more meaningful and diverse content than many full-priced games on the market.

5.) Mass Effect Series

Mass Effect is a series of role-playing action-adventure games. In the original trilogy which we recommend playing, you play as Commander Shephard. The game is set in space and you take on epic quests to save the galaxy from evil. Mass Effect features a diverse roster of characters with different abilities and traits.

The games focus on choices. The choices you take regarding characters and quests greatly impact the games and their endings. The futuristic setting of the world and some humanoid characters should give you some of those Cyberpunk vibes.
