After reaching reputation level 2, visit the City Reputation NPCs in either town and claim your Mining Outcrop Search. Then go to the blacksmith of that area and interact with him. Select the dialogue option that goes like this “Any tips on finding ore in Mondstadt?” The blacksmith will then mark some locations on the map for you to investigate.
This is where you’ll find the magical crystal chunks. Travel to the location to farm the crystal chunks. Using a Claymore to break it would be much faster than other weapons. Other than speaking to the blacksmith, you can also find magical crystal chunks by just following this guide.

Uses of Magical Crystal Chunk
Magica; Crystal Chunks can be used for crafting Mystic Enhancement Ore along with 10 resins. Go to the blacksmith of the region to craft. It costs 3 Magic Crystal Chunks and 10 Resin to create 6 Mystic Enhancement Ore. You’ll also get 50 Adventure Rank EXP because you’ll be using resins to craft.
