Into The Mountain is a long and a bit difficult quest. In addition, this quest runs in Dragonspine where it is quite challenging to walk around without any warmth. This quest was a part of Genshin Impact 1.2 which came along with the newly introduced region, Dragonspine. Initially, it is quite difficult to explore in Dragonspine because there’s a storm blockage everywhere. Finishing the quest, Into the Mountain will help you in exploring the area easily. How to Get Into The Mountain Quest?
Talk to Iris in the Adventurer’s Camp right outside Dragonspine. She will tell you about some strange ice which you have to further investigate. Follow the quest marker to the location of the strange ice.

Investigate The Strange Ice
Once you reach the location, you’ll see a block of ice in the middle. Attacking it will not break it. Even if you use pyro, it won’t melt. In the surrounding area, you’ll find 4 Scarlet Quartzes, red mining points. Players can break the glowing, red rocks scattered around Dragonspine’s icy mountain ranges.
Once they pick up a piece of the Scarlet Quartz, the player will gain a temporary buff, indicated by a red glow surrounding their character. Use this to break the ice block in the centre. Do it about 3 times and the ice will melt. Breaking it will unlock the Frostbearing Tree similar to the Statue of Seven. It gives you rewards if you level it up.
Thaw All The Shards Out
While the Frostbearing Tree gets unlocked, there will be an object flying far into the mountain. if you follow that you’ll see that the road to get to the mountain is blocked. Talk to iris again and she’ll let you know that there is 2 more strange ice. This will start the “Thaw All Shards Out” quest. There are two locations that you have to go to in order to investigate the strange ice.
Strange Ice in Starglow Cavern
Head to the location and reach the bottom of the cave to find the strange ice. However, this time the ice is blocked by a barrier. Players can remove the barrier by completing the challenge nearby. This challenge is difficult since there are many chances of you getting frozen.
Bringing a pyro character helps in the fight. Most importantly, return the three Pyro Seelies in the area to their pedestals before starting the fight since you’ll easily lose HP if you stay too far away from warmth while fighting. Head around the back of the ice to find the other two Seelie while the first one is there in plain sight.
If you find the challenge very difficult then you can call upon your friends to complete the challenge together. Once you complete the challenge, the barrier lifts and now you can break the ice using the Scarlet Quartz. You need 4 of them to break the ice. Two of them are behind the strange ice in the same location where you found the Seelie.
Strange Ice in Wyrmrest Valley
There are five Cryo statues in this area, and a Pyro Seelie will show players the order that they must be activated. Follow the pyro Seelie closely to know which order to have to activate the mechanism. Activating all of these will spawn a chest and initiate a fight with some Ruin Guards. Defeat them and drop down into the cavern to find the strange ice. Collect the Scarlet Quartz again to break the ice.
Thaw All the Shards Out Again
After the earlier two steps, you’ll find that the blockage to the top of the mountain has been lifted and now you can easily get to the top of the mountain. There will be 3 ice blocks this time on 3 different pillars floating in the air. You need to use the scarlet quartz again to break it. This is a relatively difficult task to do but you’ll get the hang of it once you climb up the mountain to reach the ice block.
Report back to Iris after completing the quest. She’ll reward you with 3 Hero’s Wit, 60 Primogems, 3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, and 30,000 Mora.
