Genshin Impact 2.0 brought many new hidden quests which made the game more interesting for the players. One such quest includes the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Quest. This is a pretty long and difficult quest to do since it has many puzzles inside the quest. There are many levels and parts to this quest. Following through this guide will make it easier to understand and finish the quest.
The chain has five quests, which involve finding shrines and completing puzzles. The quests are as follows:
- A Strange Story in Konda
- Sacrificial Offering
- Cleansing Defilement (and Hayashi of Tanuki in the Forest, which activates during this quest)
- Yougou Cleansing
How to Start Sacred Sakura’s First Cleansing Ritual in Genshin Impact?
In order to trigger this side quest, players have to interact with Kazari, the woman with the fox mask. You can find her directly after leaving Ritou for the first time. If you cross the water to the larger Narukami Island, you will see Kazari right in front of you, at the top of the stairs. Interacting with her will trigger the quest, A Strange Story in Konda.
A Strange Story in Konda
- Go to Konda Village and talk to the people in the village.
- Investigate the three strange spots: the well, the broken carriage, and the gully.
- Talk to the head of the village and then find the truth about the money in these locations.
- Go down the shaft, break through the wall, then follow the Electro Orb. Use the Electrogranum to pass through the thunder barrier (electric wall).
- The goal is to purify the shrines. To achieve this use the Ward on the little Shrine with the symbol of one above it. Then interact with the other four shrines according to the picture shown to you.
- Activate the gate and a mini boss will appear. Defeat it to complete the quest. The Woman with the mask will appear and send you to another area.
Sacrificial Offering
- Head to the abandoned shrine northeast of Konda village where you’ll see a ghost.
- Follow the three ghosts until they are all standing behind the three fox statues facing each other. The ghosts will disappear and leave a book about the Holy Sakura cleansing ritual.
- Take the page and visit the Grand Narukami Shrine. The NPC there will give you a Memento Lens. The Memento Lens is very important for completing the quest. Equip and use it on smaller Kitsune Statues with a blue glow. The Lens will reveal you hidden items and help you progress.
- Do this on the three smaller statues in the area to reveal NPC saying the password phrase.
- Use the password phrase on the large Kitsune Statue in that order: “In the name of Narukami’s envoy,” “And of the Hakushin bloodline,” “Bring forth the fried tofu”. You can now take the Ward for the next shrine.
- Its entrance is on a small pond nearby. Use the key you got from the precious chest in the previous quest to open it.
- Purify with the Ward, assign the symbols and defeat the mini boss that appears to complete the quest.
Cleansing Defilement
For the third part of the Ritual, you will have to find three more shrines and purify them. These are located in Chinju Forest, Araumi, and below the tidal flats outside the Kamisato Estate
The Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual in Chinju Forest
- Talk to the Giant Stone Bear in the northernmost part of the Chinju Forest, then find the three Tanuki. Light the torches if they appear.
- Ioroi then will give you the ward and send you with a Tanuki to the entrance of the shrine.
- Purify the shrine and defeat the mini boss.
The Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual in Araumi
- The shrine to purify is hidden underground. Before going underground activate the 4 electro pillars
- Use the mechanism once unlocked and get into the ruined tower. Use the Memento Lens on the kitsune statue to reveal three switches. Press them and the door will open.
- Use the electrogranum to enter the barrier. Two of the little shrines in here are disguised as statues. Use the lens to reveal them.
- Purify it and fight the mini boss.
Tidal Flats outside the Kamisato Estate
- Glide down towards the beach east of the Kamisato Estate. You’ll see a rock with a tree, a fox statue, and a glowing Kitsune statue on top of it. Use the Memento Lens on the Kitsune.
- Drop down into a cavern with the Torii gate. It’s filled with Electro energy, forcing you to take damage. Use the Electrogranum scattered around the cave to protect yourself.
- Activate the shrine using a ward and set the small shrines to the following numbers:
Yougou Cleansing
- Head to Mt. Yougou and talk with Kazari (again).
- Jump in the hole (and grab the Electroculus on the way down)!
- Fight the tumor while protecting yourself with Electrogranum. The boss will spawn the mini-bosses you’ve been fighting, as well as require you to quickly solve shrine puzzles similar to the ones you’ve been doing in past steps. Make sure to bring a strong team that has shields or healing abilities to help you sustain throughout the fight.
A cutscene will play after defeating the enemies which also means that this is the end of the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual.
