Tartara Tales in Genshin Impact is one of the longest quests but worth your time since it offers many rewards upon completion. One must have noticed a big area in Kannazuka Island affected by the Electro element. This is the Balethunder effect due to the damaged Mikage Furnace in Tatarasuna. There are lots of chests and a few Electroculi inside the barrier. However, it is a bit difficult to collect them because of continuous electro damage inside the barrier. This barrier can be lifted by completing the Tartara Tales quest.
How to complete the Tatara Tales quest in Genshin Impact
- First and foremost, in order to initiate the quest, Players will have to talk to either Toranosuke or Miyuki at Kujou Encampment. This will lead you to Xavier. Xavier maintains the protective dome which prevents the adverse effects of Mikage Furnace from spreading.

- Interacting with Xavier will lead you to investigate three rifts in the protective dome. The three rifts are the potential breaking spots of the protective dome. After investigation, Xavier will provide a map locating three Kamuijima Canons. The canons are activated by Electrogranum and can break the rifts removing the protective dome around Mikage Furnace.
- Players need to adjust the direction and elevation of the canon properly to hit the rifts.

- Xavier will then ask for a close up picture of the Mikage Furnanace. Upon completing this, you’ll get 50 primogems. Xavier will then start working on repairing the Mikage Furnace.

Tatara Tales: Priority Investigation
This quest will require you to place beacons at three marked places to gather information. The locations will be marked on the map and will be guarded by the Fatui. This is the first quest in the series and can be completed on the same day but for every subsequent quest, players have to wait for a day.
Tatara Tales: Purification Device
This second quest will require you to give 3 Crystal Marrows to Xavier for his Purification Device. Crystal Marrows are local specialties in Genshin Impact and are abundant near the Serpent’s skeleton on Yashiori island.
Tatara Tales: Data Collection
In this, players will have to bring back the beacons that were placed earlier. The players can also move freely now since the barrier has been lifted.
Tatara Tales: Process is Everything
Players will then have to take two pictures of the Mikage Furnance again.
Tatara Tales: Functional Test
Upon giving three Onikabutos, Xavier will then carry out the Functional Test of the Purification Device.
Tatara Tales: Final Preparations
This quest will lead the players to fix broken pathways in the Mikage Furnance by collecting wooden planks from the marked locations and place them on the broken bridges.
Tatara Tales: The Last Act
This is the final quest that will require the players to lead Xavier to the bottom of the furnace to perform the purification process. Players now have to protect the purification device from being destroyed by the Fatui.
Upon defeating the Fatui, the quest will then come to an end. One can easily get all the chests and Electroculi now without taking any damage.
