Hogwarts Legacy: How to solve Merlin’s Trials
In order to solve the puzzles of Merlin Trials, you are required to complete the ‘Trials of Merlin’ quest first and unlock some specific spells. After completing the needful, do not forget to buy Mallowsweets from the Magic Neep in Hogsmeade, as this item is used to activate all the Merlin Trials.
There are 9 Merlin Trials to solve, and each of them is listed below:
Destroy Balls on Pillars
In this Merlin Trial, you will see small pillars with balls situated in different corners of the particular area. Just use the Confringo or Incendio spell to destroy all of them and collect your rewards.
Collect Butterfly
Here you will get to see three pillars with diamond shapes in them. You are supposed to roam around the area, collect a flock of butterflies, and use the Lumos spell to make the butterflies follow you until you put them inside pillars. Keep repeating this process 3 times to light up all the pillars.
Collect Balls
In this task, you will see concrete circles on the ground with 4 holes in them. Eventually, you have to look for some balls randomly scattered around the area and bring them to the concrete circles using the Accio spell.
Perform Parkour
In this puzzle, you will see some rock formations in the area, situated one after the other. All you need to do is, climb up on the first rock and jump from one to the other in one go to complete this simple task. Jump on every rock at least once to make the task count and avoid resetting.
Destroy Pillars
Very simple and easy to do, in this task, you have to destroy all the stone pillars situated in different parts of the area. Navigate them and use Confringo spell to destroy the following.
Repair Stone
Unfamiliar with the previous Merlin Trial, you will see some destroyed stone pillars around the area. You simply need to go nearby to the pillars and use the Reparo spell to fix them up that are 3 in the count.
Lighting Braziers
These braziers are small things kept on the top of the pillars around the area. You need to light them up by using any kind of burning spell, most probably the Incendio or Confringo spell. Doing so will make you complete this task.
Big Ball
In this task, you need to roll a big ball from the hill cliff and put it into the big hole at the bottom end of the hill. In order to move the ball, the most preferable spell to use is Wingurdiam Leviosa.
Rotating Pillars
This puzzle is a bit tricky but not so hard for you to solve. You will see some stone cubes resting upon each other in the formation of a pillar. All you need to do is rotate them with the Flipendo spell until all the symbols on the cubes match together.
