Days Gone is a 2019 action-adventure video game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Bend Studio. The game takes place two years after a plague converted a section of humanity into vicious zombie-like creatures in post-apocalyptic Oregon. Deacon St. John, a former criminal turned drifter, discovers that his wife Sarah, who had been presumed dead, may still be alive and embarks on a search for her. Days Gone is a third-person shooter that allows the player to explore an open-world setting. Players can defend themselves against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures known as Freakers with firearms, melee weapons, and homemade weaponry, as well as stealth. Deacon’s motorcycle, which serves as the player character’s primary mode of mobility and transportable inventory, is a key game mechanic.
Bend Studio, a division of Sony, has a lengthy history with handhelds, having been a leader in both the PSP and PS Vita eras before returning to consoles with Days Gone.
