Previously on Oregairu.

In my Oregairu Season 3 Episode 1 Review I talked about how the series cleverly handles the character development.  The main motive of Oregairu Season 3 episode 1 was to pave a path for some of our loved characters, and how they were going to progress throughout the end season. As a result, we saw Hachiman’s response to Yuigahama. Yukino’s resolve to finally confront her family and Komachi’s growth as a teenager.

Oregairu Season 3 Episode 2 Review

Oregairu Season 3 Episode 2 ReviewEpisode 2 of Oregairu Season 3 begins with a flashback(triggered by Hachiman and Hayama’s conversation) of what transpired between the service club(Hachiman, Yukino, and Yuigahama) and Yukino’s sister. Yukino’s elder sister agrees to help her. While taking a short walk with Hachiman. She talks about Yukino and how she is happy about her decisions and her stand to resolve her family matters.

Oregairu Season 3However, her voice and actions give away how despondent she has grown over the past years. Just like Yukino her sister’s life was also highly influenced by her mother. I think she deserves her own story with an MC like Hachiman to liberate her from her predicaments.

Oregairu Season 3 Episode 2In my previous review, I said, the entire episode was highly focused on character development and self-realization. The same can be said for episode 2. If episode 1 was focused on Yukino realizing, she has to deal with her family problems someday. Then Oregairu Season 3 episode 2 is focused on Yuigahama realizing how she never had a chance with Hachiman.

Yuigahama finds something special to Yukino in her bedroom while her visit at her house. Now, I won’t be spoiling what it was, however, I will say that it makes Yukino’s feelings towards Hachiman crystal clear.

The above heading is the same thing that was going in the mind of Hachiman. On his way back to home, Yukino’s sister talks with Hachiman about herself. At the end of her conversation with Hachiman, She Says-

You are probably the same. I am calling it right now. You can’t get drunk.

By this, she was relating her self to Hachiman. As he is in a messed up situation of his own. Hachiman’s feelings towards Yukino is quite evident throughout the series. He knows that someday he has to make his own choice which will hurt others. (Yuigahama, Hayama) To me, Yukino’s sister’s words were describing Hachiman’s current situation or it was a foreshadowing of the coming problems that he has to face.

Now, this ends my Oregairu Season 3 Episode 2 Review. what are your thoughts on the conversation between Yukino’s sister and Hachiman? Tell us down in the comments.
