Sony has announced the date for its PlayStation August Event. Sony posted on their PlayStation Blog that this new State of Play event will take place on August 6th ( 1 PM, PT) and will not focus on any of the PS5 first-party games.
State of Play returns Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific!
What to expect:

▪️ A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June’s PS5 showcase
▪️ No big PS5 announcements!

Instead, this State of Play event will emphasize some of the indie and third party PS5 games that were announced during the PS5 games showcase in June. Aside from this, there will also be some PS4 and PSVR game announcements, indicating that the company is not letting of its 110+ million userbase any time soon.

Aside from some small PS5 announcements don’t expect anything from Sony’s PlayStation Studio. Sony also confirmed that there will be no hardware related news so a PS5 price reveal is a lost cause. However, the Livestream will last for over 40 minutes there will definitely be some key takeaways.
