Sony’s latest and greatest console, the PlayStation 5 has been in high demand lately. Releasing amidst a global pandemic and numerous hardware shortages, it isn’t exactly a mystery as to why the PS5 is hard to come by. Analysts and insiders claim that the shortages will continue to worsen until next year, and fans have to remain on high alert at all times to even stand a chance to snag one in a restock.
India has been largely been ignored by Sony as a potential market for PS5, releasing the console a whole three months after its official release in November 2020. Since the release of PS5 in India in February, only 2 official restocks have happened in May. Fans are curious to know when the promised June restock will go live and it seems that one fan might have an answer to this lingering question.
A Twitter user by the name Hariharan claims that the next PS5 restock would go live on 10th of June at 12:00 pm IST. He used a chrome extension by the name of Flipshope to verify the claim, and we have confirmed the same on Sony’s own ShopAtSC website.
It’s quite strange that Sony and any other retailers haven’t provided any details until now. Considering that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart releases on 11th June and Returnal‘s launch in India was accompanied by a few drops of the console, there’s a high likelihood that this claim is indeed correct. It remains to be seen how many units would be available this time, should the drop happen.
India has had a rough patch when it comes to PS5 restocks, with multiple reports of scalping by retailers themselves, forcing customers to opt for bundling, and even outright canceling pre-orders on baseless grounds by retailers like Flipkart.
