Sony Shuts Down Fake PS5 Rumor of Less Production of Consoles

Sony announced their PS5 showcase event slated to broadcast on September 16, 2020, a few days ago. While the gaming community was eagerly waiting for the event. Bloomberg reported a potential decline in the production of the PS5 due to issues with the SOC for the new console. But, later on, the rumour was shut down by Sony. Proving it to be yet another fake rumour about the console.

Sony’s Response on Fake PS5 Rumor of Less Production of Consoles Due To SOC Manufacturing Issues

While we do not release details related to manufacturing, the information provided by Bloomberg is false. We have not changed the production number for PlayStation 5 since the start of mass production.

Takashi Mochizuki, Author at Bloomberg wrote,

(Bloomberg) — Sony Corp. has cut its estimated PlayStation 5 production for this fiscal year by 4 million units, down to around 11 million, following production issues with its custom-designed system-on-chip for the new console, according to people familiar with the matter.
