Valheim is an extremely popular survival game, developed by Iron Gate Studios. This Steam Early Access game is topping the charts week after week, and the fandom just keeps increasing. Most of this can be attributed to great optimization for an early access title and the procedural world generation, that keeps the game from getting stale.
While Valheim is a pretty polished game, some bug reports have been found on the internet that can destroy your world saves and characters. Since the developer isn’t able to replicate it, many are now worrying about backing up their saves on a local machine.
This guide will tell players the location of Valheim’s world saves.
Where to Find Valheim World Save?
Follow these steps to find the Valheim world save:
- Quit out of the game, and stop the Steam Client in the background.
- Then go to the Windows search bar, and type in %appdata%
- This should open up the \AppData\Roaming folder.
- Go back to \AppData, then navigate \AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim.
- Then, this folder should have a seperate directory for world saves, characters, and screenshots.
- Copy the folder as it and create a backup on a destination of your choice.
This completes the guide. The bug should be fixed soon, but players are avised to take due precautions.
