Hitman 3, recently released on January 20, is the finale to the trilogy that started in 2016’s Hitman. The game is available on a lot of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, which looks to be the series’ first.
Hitman 3 is available on the Nintendo Switch via the cloud. This has led to many fans asking questions as to what this means and most importantly, what it means for them as a player.

What is Hitman 3 Cloud Version?
Hitman 3 is a very graphically demanding game. Although Nintendo Switch can run games such as Doom Eternal at acceptable framerates, Hitman 3 looks to be too much for the console to handle. So, the developers have decided to release a cloud-powered version for the consoles, following in the footsteps of games such as Resident Evil 7.
Cloud gaming is the next step in gaming and involves streaming a video game from the internet. The actual game runs off of a server somewhere else referred to as “cloud”, and in this case, Nintendo Switch pulls the game footage in real-time and uploads the console’s commands to the server and this is how cloud gaming works.
Obviously enough, cloud gaming requires a consistent and high-quality internet connection at all times. Sloppy speeds will result in lag and buffering, similar to what happens with a YouTube video. Most cloud gaming services require around an internet connection, preferably wired, capable of reaching speeds up to 20-25 Mbits per second for a stable experience.
If everything comes well together, Hitman 3 works like a charm with crisp visuals and stable framerates.
