GTA V is one of the best selling games of all time. The Rockstar Games’ open-world magnum opus launched in 2013 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Since then, it has found its way into the PS4 and the Xbox One, and PC.

The game’s single-player experience is phenomenal with multiple high-stakes heists, but the multiplayer is on another level. Rockstar continues to support it with regular content updates that add newer missions and exotic gear. It recently went free to claim for a week on the Epic Games Store that has increased the already huge player base.

Thus, it is no surprise that Rockstar is willing to release the game for the next generation of consoles, namely the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

GTA V Enhanced Edition PS5 Release Date

GTA V will release on the next generation of consoles under the name GTA V Enhanced Edition and will be quite different from the last-gen versions. The most obvious improvements are quicker load times, high res textures, and better framerates. The enhanced consoles, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X never received performance upgrades so this change will be significant.

There is still no exact release date, but Rockstar has plans of releasing this version in the second half of this year. The PS5 is also said to include some exclusive content. On top of that, there will also be a free to play GTA V online standalone version. But this will only be playable for the first three months of release.

The improvements haven’t officially been mentioned at the time of writing. We think it is reasonable to expect 4K visuals with a 60fps upgrade. Even higher framerates for its multiplayer offerings is also one very probable improvement that players are sure to appreciate.
