The game was originally released in 2007. It was met with overall positive reception from fans and critics alike. The game originally ran on the Xbox 360 with a sub 720p resolution with a 30 fps lock. There were also reports of some frame rate issues in the release.

However, after this release, you can play Halo 3 on your PC at 4K resolution and an unlocked framerate. The game comes with 3 graphical options, namely performance, original, and enhanced graphics. The texture density and resolution have been increased across the board along with work in the cutscenes as well. The game, as seen from Digital Foundry’s testing runs pretty much on any CPU/GPU combo with DirectX 11 compatibility.
