The eighth mainline entry in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village is just days away from its release, and fans are curious to know long it takes to beat the game’s campaign.

Early rumors suggested that Resident Evil Village is the longest RE Engine game to date. Some of the notable RE games that fans would recall are Resident Evil 7 and Devil May Cry 5. RE 7 on average takes about 6-8 hours to beat whereas Devil May Cry 5 takes over 10-12 hours.

If that turns out to be the case then Resident Evil Village should be a 12-15 hours game. Interestingly, the latest rumor on the subject seems to indicate that is indeed the case. According to acclaimed leaker Dusk Golem, the first two people who beat Resident Evil Village took 13 hours and 30 minutes, and 15 hours and 30 minutes, to finish respectively.

This shouldn’t be surprising given how the game offers a multitude of unique looking locales to explore. IGN recently revealed the map of RE Village that reveals all the different areas of the game. Without spoiling much, some of the key areas include Castle Dimitrescu, Heisenberg’s Factory, and Moreau’s Reservoir.

Resident Evil Village is out May 7, on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
