How to play ISO in Valorant

Valorant’s new update, Episode 7 ACT-3 brings in the 23rd agent of the game. The new duelist’s name is ‘ISO,’ a Chinese fixer who focuses on precise gunplay and a unique ability that pits him in a 1 vs 1 duel against another player.

Since it’s a new agent, many players would like to master it ASAP. This is where our guide will help you if you’re one of those players.

ISO’s ability kit in Valorant

Here is an overview of ISO’s abilities in Valorant:

• (E) Double Tap: ISO’s ‘E’ ability is called double tap. When you press ‘E’, it will activate a focus timer for a very short duration. As the timer runs out Iso will be able to generate energy orbs from any enemy he harms or even damages, and if ISO shoots the energy orb he’ll receive a shield that can absorb one instance of damage from any source, even from the raze’s ultimate, operator shot or anything.
• (Q) Undercut: The ‘Q’ ability is called Undercut, it throws a molecular bolt that can pass through any wall or obstacle, like Omen’s flash. The difference is that if the molecular bolt touches any enemy, it will make the enemy vulnerable.
• (C) Contingency: In this Iso assembles all of his prismatic energy to fire an indestructible wall. This wall can block all the bullets fired from either end. Basically, it is a better version of Harbor’s Wall as it has the same movement style but it can block bullets too.
• (X) Kill Contract: This is one of the most unique abilities by far in this game. This ability makes ISO a character who demands highly precise gunplay from its players. In this, ISO throws a column of energy which will transport him and the first enemy hit by it in a completely different dimension, where Iso and the respective enemy will go under 1 vs 1 duel for 50 seconds with both players having 150 hp. The winner will leave the 1 vs 1 arena while the loser dies.

Best maps to play ISO in Valorant

Here are the maps and playstyles for ISO where his abilities work well:

• For instance, if you’re an attacker, on A Site, on Bind, you can use Contingency toward Haven which will not only block the view of the opponent from Haven but will also block the bullets of defenders playing back of the site. So you’ll only have to focus on U-halls of A Site. Further, you can also use Undercut while standing outside B Hookah to make opponents in Hookah vulnerable and make your teammates push Hookah simultaneously with close-ranged weapons like Shorty, Judge, or Bucky.
• Iso can also be used as a solid defender, as you can use his wall to block the entrances of any site on any map, such as Bind or Haven, to block the push of opponents from the site’s Main.
• Iso can be extremely economy-friendly since you can play Iso in close angles like Bind’s Hookah or Haven’s Garage, where you can use his Undercut to make opponents vulnerable, and then use low-cost weapons such as Shorty, Bucky, or Judge.
• Further, if you’re an attacker and have Double tap in action and if you can get a kill while being outside any site, you can shoot the energy orb to activate your shield. This will act similar to Pheonix’s ultimate as you can run fearlessly in site since you know you can absorb one instance of damage from any source, just the difference is that you will stay at the same position where you absorb the damage.
